Identify earth terminal positions. 

If you want your fence to function properly, then you need to set it up in the best way possible. No matter what kind of power source you have, you must use a galvanized earth stake of 3.3 feet (1 m) long. 

Test your electric security

Take a fence tester for fencing that is temporary or can be moved. For long-lasting fencing, must use a LED voltmeter. For any kind of tester, press the sensor into the earth and tap the tester’s terminal towards the fence. To get an accurate reading of the voltage, test the farthest end from your energizer. The fence should have at least 3000 volts.

Check the earth

Use a steel bar or an earth stake 328 feet away and bring the electric fence closer to the ground. One of the voltmeter’s hooks must be plugged into a stake. Stick the other probe as far away from the stake. If 400/500 volts show up, your fence is good to go. However, you need to fix the earth if you see that the reading is below 400/500 volts.

Add 3.3 feet of extra earth stakes (1 m) apart

Lead-out wire connects the tops of each earth stake. Check the current once more. Take out the steel bar or stake and pull the clip from the fence.
