Eufy Video Doorbells are a great way to monitor your surroundings whenever someone visits your house. But to do so, you need to have it connected to the internet.

If you’re trying to set up your new Eufy Doorbell but are not sure how to connect them to a Wi-Fi network, no worries. This step by step guide covers exactly that.

In fact, connecting a doorbell(Audio/Video) is the easier part of the whole setup process. With only a few button clicks, you will be able to get your doorbell connected and running in no time.

As you may know, there are different models of Eufy Doorbells. Some versions come with a HomeBase, others come with a Wi-Fi chime. Some versions directly connect to the internet.

If you follow this guide, you can get your doorbell connected no matter which model you have. Let’s get started!

Required Tools

To connect your Eufy Doorbell, you’ll need the following(some of them are included in the package):

Eufy HomeBase/Wi-Fi Chime
Power cable
Ethernet cable
Power connector
Eufy mobile app
A router
Stable Wi-Fi connection
Mobile hotspot(optional)

Connecting Eufy Doorbell to Your Wi-Fi Network?

If your Doorbell has a Wi-Fi Chime or a Homebase, you need to connect that to the internet. You can connect Eufy wired doorbell directly to the internet. I will cover all the processes.

HomeBase & Homebase 2

Before you do anything about the Wi-Fi, you need to physically setup the Eufy HomeBase first. So let’s see how you can accomplish that and connect it to the Wi-Fi.

Plug in the power cable (rounded head) into the hub. Plug in the other end to a power outlet.
Plug in the Ethernet cable to the proper port of the hub. The other end of the ethernet cable goes into your router’s LAN port.
Power up the HomeBase. Notice if it’s blinking red (may defer from model to model).
Download the Eufy security mobile app. Download from the Apple apps store
Press “Add Device”.
Choose “HomeBase Station”(the version you own).
You will be asked to physically connect the HomeBase which I’ve already done. Click “Next”.
You will require connecting your phone to the same Wi-Fi router the HomeBase is connected to. So do that. Press “Next”.
You will have to wait for 1 minute for the HomeBase’s LED to turn from red to blue.
When the light turns blue, you will hear a voice telling you to follow the instructions on the app for setting up.
Use your phone to scan the QR code on your HomeBase. It’s at the bottom.
Your HomeBase will receive a pairing request. Press the “Sync Button” on the back of the HomeBase. It will be added successfully.

Wi-Fi Chime

If you have the Doorbell version that comes with a Wi-Fi Chime, follow these steps:

Download and log into your Eufy Security app.
Plug the WiFi chime into a power outlet. Extend the antennas.
Tap “Add Device” on the app and add the Wi-Fi Doorbell chime.
Choose the Wi-Fi network of your desire. Enter the password and tap “Connect”.
Wait for the light on the chime to become blue.
Press “Chime lights up”.
Locate the Sync button. Hold for 2 seconds until the light starts flashing and you hear a chime noise.
Press “Connect” again.
Finally, tap “Done”.

How To Fix Eufy Doorbell Failed to Connect To Wi-Fi During First Setup

Your Eufy Doorbell may not be able to connect to the Wi-Fi on the very first try. There is nothing to worry about because you can follow some troubleshooting steps to get it fixed.

Step #1: Find out your Wi-Fi network’s frequency

You must have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. Eufy and many other security cams will NOT work on a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Here’s a helpful guide so that you can know whether you are using 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

Step #2: Connect the doorbell to your phone’s hotspot

This is so you can test if the problem is with your Wi-Fi or the Eufy app or Doorbell.

Turn on your mobile hotspot. Connect it to your Eufy Doorbell. If the connection is successful, this means the problem lies within your router or Wi-Fi network. You need to deal with that.

Step #3: Troubleshoot your router/Wi-Fi

The final step is to find and fix any problem your router or Wi-Fi is causing.

Make sure your Wi-Fi network uses WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK encryption. Eufy Doorbell works on these two encryptions.
Reboot the router. A quick reboot can fix many issues with your Wi-Fi.
Bring the router closer to the doorbell. According to Eufy, 30 ft or less is an ideal distance.

If nothing works, you should talk to Eufy’s customer support immediately. They will guide you to sort things out.

How to Change the Wi-Fi Details for the Eufy Doorbell?

You can change the Wi-Fi details for your Eufy doorbell and other devices in some simple steps.

Log in to the Eufy Security app.
In the device tab, press HomeBase/Wi-Fi Chime/Wi-Fi Bridge. Alternatively, you can tap the three dots(…) in the device tab.
Go to Settings → General → Wi-Fi Connection
You will need to select again from HomeBase/Wi-Fi Chime/Wi-Fi Bridge whichever you are using. For wired Doorbells, select the main device.
Go to General → Wi-Fi Connection → Wi-Fi Setup.
Choose the new Wi-Fi network.
Enter your password for the Wi-Fi network.
You are done.

How Do I Get My Eufy Doorbell Back Online?

Your Eufy Doorbell may go offline from time to time due to a power outage or bad internet. Here’s how you can get it back online –

Confirm it’s plugged in and the power is on.
Measure the temperature around it. The ideal range is -4°f (-20°C) to 122°F (50°C).
Make sure the transformer is providing 16-24VAC, 30 VA or above voltage.
If you have the wired version, double-check if the wires are connected to the doorbell properly.
Try to connect the doorbell to your mobile hotspot to see if it works.
